If you enjoyed season one, then season two should be a blast. However, if season one didn't appeal to you, then season two probably won't either. The series is based upon the work of stand-up comedian Tim Allen. Tim is a family man who makes a living by hosting a home improvement show in Detroit, Michigan called "Tool Time". He is a minor celebrity and more often than not, his ego gets in the way. The show takes a look at the hilarious daily interactions of Tim, at both the home and the workplace.
Stephen Tobolowsky was tapped to play the Tool Time co-host, Glen. However, he was still busy with a movie that was in the middle of production at the time the first pilot was to be shot. Therefore, the producers set out to cast an alternate character that would stand in as Tim's co-host for the pilot, or for however many episodes were required until Tobolowsky was available. The casting department auditioned Richard Karn, for what would be his first major appearance on a TV sitcom; the character of Al Borland was created from there. After the first few episodes completed with Patricia Richardson as Jill, Tobolowsky was still tied up with his other commitments, and Karn found himself in his role permanently when Tobolowsky decided he would have no time to do a series. Home Improvement is an American television sitcom starring Tim Allen that aired on ABC from September 17, 1991 to May 25, 1999 with a total of 204 half-hour episodes spanning eight seasons.

This season also features a few more episodes about Tim and Jill still trying to work out the kinks in their relationship. In "Overactive Glance" Jill gets a little too sensitive when Tim looks at another woman and Tim tries to prove to her he can go an evening without looking at other women. In "Groin Pulls", Tim tries to show Jill what a manly man he is, but at what cost? The episode "You're Driving Me Crazy, You're Driving Me Nuts" is quite funny. Tim tries to convince Jill he doesn't need direction to get their friend's wedding.
Al Borland has a beard and always wears plaid shirts when taping an episode, reflecting Norm Abram's appearance on This Old House. Bob Vila appeared as a guest star on several episodes of Home Improvement, while Tim Allen and Pamela Anderson both appeared on Bob Vila's show Home Again. S seventh season until Tim's last line in the series finale—the last two words ever spoken on the show.

With an applicable quote from somewhere in humanity's past, Wilson is always able to ease Tim's problems, even if much of what is said gets lost in Tim's translation. Somehow, although the formula is the same in most episodes, it never grows stale perhaps due to the excellent chemistry of the neighbors and also in part to whatever efforts went into finding the perfectly relevant, often obscure source for Wilson to cite. The box is very sturdy with all 8 seasons in their own individual covers.

It seems like he just did this because it was good career move, great exposure and the obvious “next level” that someone in his position would take. The "Loose Screws" montage is, as with the first season set, not really an extra, as it simply slices up little bits of footage from the actual episodes. In "Rites and Wrongs Of Passage", Brad starts to act like an out of control teenager and Tim isn't quite sure how to handle the situation. Randy gets picked on at school and Tim takes the issue straight to the bully's father, who turns out to be just as bad as his son. While facing the day-to-day challenges of parenting, marriage, and being an accident-prone personality, Tim again frequently looks over the fence for help. Always there to listen and advise is the Taylors' sage, enigmatic neighbor Wilson .

First, during the episode "Workshop 'Til You Drop" Tim wears a Wofford College sweatshirt. Second, during the episode "The Wood, the Bad and the Hungry" Tim wears an Owens Community College sweatshirt. Richardson was offered $25 million to do a ninth season; Allen was offered $50 million. The two declined the offer and the series came to an end as a result.
Home Improvement - Season 2 was a lot better then I thought it was going to be. I really never watched this show just because when it was on, I was so busy doing other things that I basically didn’t watch TV at all. So now getting the chance to revisit it, I think I have stated pretty clearly why this show was successful. Tim Allen has the ability to be really funny and as a result of this we really like him. Add to this that Home Improvement - Season 2 is a very light, easily accessible show and something that can appeal to both men and women , and I think one can understand why this show was as popular as it is. He had more common sense than Brad but was not immune to trouble. Mark was somewhat of a mama's boy, though later in the series he grew into a teenage outcast who dressed in black clothing. Meanwhile, Brad became interested in cars like his father and took up soccer. Randy joined the school drama club and later the school newspaper; in the eighth season, he left for Costa Rica.
A great old-school TV show you can watch with the whole family. Throughout the show, Tim Taylor would often be wearing sweatshirts or T-shirts from various Michigan-based colleges and universities. These were usually sent by the schools to the show for him to wear during an episode. Because Allen considered Michigan his home state, the rule was that only Michigan schools would get the free advertising. There were two notable exceptions to the general rule that Tim only supported Michigan educational institutions on the show.
Basically, Tim Allen loved to poke fun of himself rather than other people, and that makes for the best type of comedy in my opinion... On a snowy night, Tim and Jill drive to Jill's friend Sheila's wedding. Only, they get lost soon, wind up in Ohio, and Tim is reluctant to ask for directions.
